Industrial
Under the Framework Element, industrial lands are to be located in close proximity to one another so that they can support one another and waste products can be recycled easily. This idea is know as “industrial ecology”. [2] The Framework Element recognizes the importance of having a strong industrial zone as it retains of jobs and products to keep the city of Los Angeles running. However, the Framework Element also recognizes that there are still many of industrial plants located in inappropriate areas of the city. The goal is to move these miss located industrial plants into close proximity with the rest of the industrial plants in order to maintain “industrial ecology” and free land for a more appropriate use. The industrial land can be found in the east and south of Downtown Los Angeles and the Port of Los Angeles. [2]
